Central Subway For Muni Under Construction Beneath SF Union Square
The 1.7 mile Muni Central Subway is being built under Union Square in San Francisco. At a cost of $2 billion, it will connect South of Market with Chinatown via light rail, thus making it SF’s first crosstown subway. It’s to be completed not next year, but by the year 2020.
