This Bally’s Las Vegas Shooting Update proves why gun control is needed, and regardless of what gun rights advocates say, when a person has a gun, they tend to see it as the solution for all of their problems.
The shooting suspect, 41-year-old Benjamin Frazier, certainly thought so.
Based on an account according to the Review Journal, Mr. Frazier arrived at the club just around 5:20 am on Monday. Frazier was curious to see if there was anything going on in the club, the club security guys Robert Farias and Anthony Guerrero told him he had to pay the $30 cover charge to go in and find out. So he did.
But Mr. Frazier walked in and, in his view, nothing was going on (I mean it’s 5 AM, right?), so he came up to Robert Farias and Anthony Guerrero and asked for his cover charge money back. Of course, they said no. But rather than go away, Mr. Frazier argued with them.
The argument grew in energy until Benjamin Frazier had enough and shot Frarias with a .38 caliber revolver in the arm and the chest. Then he shot Anthony Guerrero in the chest.
At that point Kenneth Brown, a patron leaving the nghtclub and a standup comedian who moved to Las Vegas from LA, jumped on Benjamin Frazier and tackled him. But Brown, too, was shot and killed by Frazier, who sustained a head injury after Brown tackles him and that has him, was booked in absentia on charges of murder and attempted murder and is, as of this writing, in a coma.
The two guards, Robert Farias and Anthony Guerrero, are expected to survive.
Stay tuned.
