Sandy Hook Shooting Update 20 Reported Dead

While CNN has not confirmed this, there are some reports that there are 27 who were injured, 20 killed, 10 children. The expected shooter’s body was found in the classroom, yet no one knows as of this writing how that shooter was killed. Moreover, it’s not known if there was another shooter and what happened to that person, if there was one.

UPDATE: there were two shooters; one was killed, the other arrested.

UPDATE: One shooter reported by WABC to be 24 years old and wearing a bullet-proof vest.

But with this number Sandy Hook becomes the worst mass murder of this kind in American history.

Why? Why do this?

A CNN producer talked to a person who happened to be in a morning meeting at Sandy Hook Elementary School when she and the other persons in the room heard shots fired out. The school’s principal and vice principal were in that meeting, and went out of the room to see what was going on. Reportedly, of the principal, the vice principal and one other person only the vice principal returned to the room, and he was shot in the foot.

As reported earlier:

Danbury Hospital, located about 11 miles west of the school, had been put on alert for possible casualties, a hospital spokesman told Reuters.
A hospital spokeswoman told NBC Connecticut that the hospital had received three patients from the scene.
Connecticut State Police said its officers were at the scene with local police but provided no additional details. The emergency call to police occurred at 9:41 a.m., state police said.
An individual answering the phone at the Newtown Police Department declined to comment.
Newtown, with a population about 27,000, is in northern Fairfield County, about 45 miles southwest of Hartford and 80 miles northeast of New York City.
Sandy Hook serves children in kindergarten through fourth grade, roughly ages 5 to 10. It is one of four elementary schools in the district. The town also has a grade 5-6 school, a middle school and a high school.
