Jerry Sandusky. 15 years ago, the name stood for defensive coaching excellence in football and at Penn State. Now, it stands for child sexual abuse while at Penn State. The shocking sex scandal that has brought the Penn State Nittany Lions Football Program to its knees, ruined the career of legendary coach Joe Paterno, and upset millions is such that it’s unthinkable that Coach Sandusky would even speak out about it.
But he did, on Sunday, and to Bob Costas on the new TV program Rock Center.
While listening, I could not help but think “Does he know this is going to be used in court against him?” Because some of the comments Coach Sandusky made were really interesting. Especially when Costas asked him if he was sexually attracted to young boys. Instead of giving a straight out and out NO, Sandusky paused, wavered and then said what sounded like a qualified “no.”
That was crazy.
