Shannon Sharpe Hypocrite: Blasts Jameis Winston, Backed John Elway In 1988 AFC Championship Game Shannon Sharpe Hypocrite: Blasts Jameis Winston, Backed John Elway In 1988 AFC Championship Game NFL Hall of Fame Tight End Shannon Sharpe can now be called “Shannon Sharpe Hypocrite” for blasting Jameis Winston after the New Orleans Saints Quarterback elected to call a run play and give teammate Jamal Williams a chance to score a one-yard touchdown. Why? Because, like Jameis Winston, who was only doing what his Saints teammates wanted after the Saints interception of an Atlanta Falcons pass ended one-yard shy of paydirt, Shannon Sharpe backed his QB John Elways decision to overrule Mike Shanahan in the 1988 AFC Championship Game. The story goes like this, according to The Denver Post: It was the AFC Championship game in Pittsburgh when the Broncos desperately needed a first down to get out of a third-and-6 hole near their goal line and preserve a 24-21 lead over the Steelers. In came a play from the sidelines nobody had ever heard of, so Elway told tight end Shannon Sharpe, “Just get open.” Sharpe obeyed. Elway hit him for the first down, and the Steelers never saw the ball again. Did anyone accuse John Elway of overruling Mike Shanahan and going sandlot? Nope. They got the first down, held on to the lead, and went on to win the Super Bowl. No teammate, including Shannon Sharpe, blasted John Elway, and neither did the media for overruling Mike Shanahan. So, why is the same Shannon Sharpe take time to blast Jameis Winston? And why is the media today full of still mostly white men attacking Winston? Let’s take Sharpe first. Maybe it’s because Sharpe forgot what it meant to be a teammate on an NFL team? And maybe because Shannon Sharpe is caught up in an ugly media game. And regarding the white men in media, the truth is there are differing views on Winston: Pat McAfee of ESPN and YouTube, represents a new guard of young white media personalities who don’t play the racist game. The same can’t be said for a number of middle-aged white sports reporters. Can they not handle a Black man calling his own shots, but love it when a white man does? It looks like it, but it’s crazy when one realizes they’re in bed with black media people who should know better. The sad new media game involves black media personalities instructed by their mostly-white production bosses to attack black NFL Players. ESPN is particularly guilty of this, where a number of African American media taking heads seem to take a special relish in attacking Black athletes. Take Kimberly Martin making a personal attack on Cam Newton as the Host on ESPN Get Up. Or Stephen A. Smith having doing number of personal attacks on black athletes. And all under the employment of an organization that’s not majority African American owned. So, who wins here? From an economic standpoint, only EPSN black anchors, but only off the backs of other black personalities, and certainly don’t own the media company. Yet, they take on skirmishes with African American athletes that a white counterpart would be called racist for doing. Shannon Sharpe should take a pause and stop contributing to this mondern-day variation of the master-slave dynamic of slavery, where black slaves hunted after other black people and brought them to slavery. The beneficiary? The white slave owner. So, who’s Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A. Smith and Kimberly Martin really helping? And why aren’t they funding the growth of Black-owned media? Shannon Sharpe should apologize to Jameis Winston, on television, and on YouTube, as soon as possible.

The overall objective here, on top of our is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours – is the use of the existing YouTube social graph on any subject in the World. Now, news is reported with a smartphone and also by promoting current content on YouTube: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, or having a camera crew to shoot what is already on YouTube. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
