Baltimore Ravens fullback Vonta Leach tweeted this message Monday night:
“Thank @Ravens organization for a great two years,” Leach tweeted. “I came here and did what we set out to do and that’s win the Super Bowl. My time here is up but what we accomplished, we will be forever linked. Thank the fans for accepting me and my family to Bmore. #newchapter #samegoal”
Unfortunately the Ravens could not come to terms with the 31 year-old fullback; he was cut from the team. Leach had one of the highest salary-cap figures on the roster, he was due $4.33 million in 2013.
While Leach went to two Pro Bowls during his time in Baltimore, he was used less last season. The Ravens changed to a more wide-open offense and were more reliant on quarterback Joe Flacco.
The Ravens drafted fullback Kyle Juszczyk out of Harvard in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. As the only FB on the Ravens’ roster, he will get the start this season.
