Donovan McNabb Reportedly Being Released from Minnesota Vikings

Donovan McNabb
Early Thursday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Minnesota Vikings are in preliminary talks to release pro-bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb.

McNabb joined the Vikings late this summer in a trade with the Washington Redskins. The trade was rumored to have been on the table for a significant amount of time, but was unable to become official due to the lengthy NFL lockout. If the rumors hold true, McNabb will have spent only 12 games as a Viking. Of those 12 games, McNabb was the official starter in six of those games, recording a 1-5 record with the sole win coming in week 5 blowout of the Arizona Cardinals.

McNabb signed a one-year, $5.05 million dollar contract following the trade from Washington. Minnesota is slated to save approximately $1.5 million in salary upon his release. More on this story as it develops.
