Contrary to mainstream media reports, Super Bowl LII turned out to be the second most watched program in television history. While the average view number reported was 103.4 million, NBC Sports and the NFL report that total viewership peaked at 112.3 million from 10 PM to 10:15 PM EST during the 4th quarter of Super Bowl LII.

Perhaps driven by social media, the fact is that 112.3 million viewers make Super Bowl LII the second most watched TV program in history. Even if you don’t use the peak number, Super Bowl LII is still one of the top 10 in TV history. Here’s the breakdown:
