This video of an NYPD officer giving boots to a homeless, and shoeless, man, has went viral. Why? Well, the answer’s simple: we see so many images and videos and hear so many stories about police brutality and corruption that we’ve become hard-wired to think of the police as bad. Also, we just don’t get a lot of stories about good deeds, especially from police officers.

Just think of how these kinds of acts would improve the situation of embattled police departments like the one in Oakland, California?

So, let’s sit back and enjoy NYPD Officer Larry DePrimo giving the man a pair of all-weather boots and thermal socks to survive a cold night in New York City.

Stay tuned.
