You know him as one of the stars of the HBO television show EUPHORIA. But I know him as the young man who happily video-bombed me at the Peets Coffee on Lakeshore Avenue on a Sunday morning January 29th 2017 in Oakland. At that time, Angus wasn’t a star, but he was a person who wanted to be in front of the camera and had something to say. He made that apparent that moment in time, when he said “F__ Donald Trump” in response to my question about the former President who was POSTUS at the time. We did not keep in touch, but the video was memorable, so much so that as Angus Cloud became famous, fans found the video. I had hoped I would be able to reconnect with him at some point. The last thing I would ever think of is that he would leave us, but that’s what happened. According to reports from TMZ: Angus Cloud, famous from “Euphoria” — has died at his family’s home in Oakland … TMZ has learned. The actor’s family tells us … “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.” They continue, “Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.” Man, Angus was a gift to all of us. His fun-loving way. His frank-talk. His “every-person” persona. And his gift of acting. All of that taken from us too soon. Why? Stay tuned.
