David Shaw is Tom Landry. Period. In directing Stanford’s 38-36 win over Notre Dame, Shaw was one thing: expressionless.
The Stanford Cardinal Head Coach showed a level of calm and cool that reminded me of Tom Landry, the late Dallas Cowboys Head Coach.
Coach Landry was known for a demeanor so calm that you could not tell if the Cowboys were ahead or behind – the same can be said for Shaw. It is that quality which set the stage for the Cardinal’s comeback win.
