Colin Kaepernick’s one mighty dreams of a big NFL contract payday may go up in smoke, and the spectre that his sex scandal was all an elaborate set up to cause this situation becomes very real.
And then there’s the TMZ photo scandal:
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports that the San Francisco 49ers have put contract talks on hold per the Miami incident that was first mis-reported as sexual assault, and now looks like a sex scandal that may have been set up to put the Niners star QB in the situation he’s in right now.
In his book, The Agent, famed Sports Agent Leigh Steinberg told a story of how it’s common for an NFL player’s contract value to be lowered due to off the field behavior.
In the Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers case, the Niners have an incentive to want to keep his value low: the cost they have to pay for the new stadium, set to open in just a few months.
Ian Rapoport also reports that the contract talks between the 49ers and Kaepernick’s team were not going well before the Miami incident.
The best thing that Kaepernick’s folks need to do is try and get a confession from the woman who visited him. Was she paid to make that trip, and if so by whom? With a contract potentially worth $120 million or more on the line, it’s really important to clear that matter. A good private investigator is worth every penny here.
Stay tuned.
