The hot rumor is AOL may snap up part of Yahoo! In fact, that AOL may take over part, or all of the web portal was not real news, until you consider that Yahoo!’s up for sale now, and in the wake of the firing of CEO Carol Bartz.

If AOL is allowed to buy Yahoo!, or even that part which contains Associated Content, it will change the new blog landscape, playing many thousands of writers and bloggers under control of one roof, and allow too much content creation power to be concentrated under one roof.

That’s too much power. The U.S. Justice Department must say no.

AOL already has a large group of standard blogs, but adding Associated Content blogs and overall platform just fills a void for AOL and makes it able to fully impact search results and game the Internet system. If it chooses to do so.

Stay tuned for more on it;.
