2014 Study Killed Publicly-Financed Las Vegas NFL Football Stadium

A little-known study commissioned by the University Of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and released September 30, 2014 concluded that a scenario involving a public and private financing partnership to build a new “multi-purpose” facility large enough for college and NFL football was not feasible due to fiscal uncertainty.

This is summarized on page 20 of the 251 page study, which you can read here: http://ift.tt/29cucVk

The question is why didn’t the Southern Nevada Tourism and infrastructure Committee know about this document before now?

The Oakland Raiders and Las Vegas Sands Majestic Team has presented and tried to politically force the SNTIC to recommend public funding of an NFL stadium and to the tune of $750 million.

It seems like the SNTIC has missed other studies that would have nixed this and called for a privately financed stadium.

Stay tuned.
