Wow. For some reason, the site of The Huffington Post, the well-known liberal news blog site ran by Arriana Huffington and purchased by AOL for over $300 million in 2011, is down as of 3:44 PM PDT.

This blogger went to go to http://www.huffingtonpost.com and waited, and waited. Finally a message reading “An error (500 Internal Server Error) has occured in response to this request” came up. Tried a second time and got the same message. And so took a screen shot of the problem that you see as the pict here.

Now, as of 3:47PM PDT, I’m going back to try again.

Now, it’s back up.

What I think happened was the Huff Post’s servers needed to be reset and perhaps a plugin or two removed. The culprit is generally a giant uptick in traffic due to content – like that Mourdock rape issue that’s rightly dominating the media today.

This is something Zennie62.com deals with from time to time, but it’s nice to know that even a site that supposedly has millions behind it like the Huffington Post goes through the problem too.

Stay tuned.
