Gene Hazzard Blasts Oakland City Council On Police Policy #OakMtg – Video
Gene Hazzard, long time Oakland activist, blasted the Oakland City Council over the ability of non-Oaklanders to sit as committee members, and why certain Oakland Police Officers under investigation are not placed on unpaid administrative leave.
The City’s position is that the Council called for experts to be on the animal control committee which does leave the chance for outsiders to be appointed – but the expected outcome is that the Mayor and Council will put Oaklanders on.
The matter of leave is an open discussion at this point.
