UPDATE: Video interview with Vincent is here:

Vincent Grashaw’s working on a new movie: Coldwater.

I met Vincent Grashaw last year at Comic-Con, when he was part of the amazing cast and producers of the Evan Glodell movie Bellflower, and the subject of one of the most enjoyable videos I’ve ever made. Since then, Mr. Grashaw and I have remained in touch; he’s a Facebook Friend, and we also share a mutual real friend, Jennifer Friel of the blog Talk Nerdy To Me Lover. Here’s how I met Vince, as he was the first person I talked to in the video – in fact, for a second I thought he was Evan:

Now, Vincent Grashaw’s announced that he’s headed to the Sierra Nevada mountains to work on a movie with a high concept that’s, in a word, chilling. It’s called Coldwater, and marks Grashaw’s feature-length directoral debut. In an email, Vince says Coldwater “sheds light on issues yet to be brought to the screen, exposing the stark realities behind juvenile rehabilitation in America.” He says the movie “follows a young boy’s fight for survival inside a wilderness bootcamp, where a retired war colonel and his counselors break inmate’s spirits to correct delinquent behavior.”

Yikes.

Grashaw is teaming up with Skipping Stone Entertainment principals Kris Dorrance and Mike Dorrance and they will work with Gare Farrand Entertainment’s Dave Gare (Law Abiding Citizen, First Snow, Trade), and Sarah Farrand. Flying Pig Productions’ CEO Joe Bilotta is serving as executive producer.

I’m making a Skype video interview with Vince Tuesday for release at the Zennie62 YouTube Channel and at Zennie62.com and other Zennie62Media blogs on Wednesday of this week.

Stay tuned.
