It was a quick win: 6-1, 6-4, but it was also a match of drama, as Sabine Lisicki fans watched her fight through her own errors and tears that came with them, to open up a three game win streak, midway through the match. But Marion Bartoli was fast, much more so than anyone expected her to be, and she successfully chased down every ball, and made unbelievable returns to alter the match.
But even with that, it was mistake after error for Sabine Lisicki , and so the day was not to be – on the court.
Off the Wimbledon field of play, Ms. Lisicki won on Social Media, with “Sabine,” or “Lisicki,” or #Lisicki hitting the Twitter Trends for at least six times, during the match, versus twice for Ms. Bartoli. Sabine’s smile and vulnerability, combined with a modern, athletic yet sexy and muscular frame that caused searches for “Sabine Lisicki boyfriend” and “Sabine Lisicki hot” , that captured the World’s attention and affection.
Sit back and watch Sabine’s endorsements climb, even as Marion Bartoli collects $2.4 million. And it’s not to say Bartoli’s not going to get more herself, as she looks great in a dress, when her hair is down. And let’s not forget that the second highest search for Marion was “Marion Bartoli boyfriend.”
When you’re in the spotlight, people want to know about you.
Great Moments
How about Marion Bartoli and Sabine Lisicki hugging each other after the match? Or Bartoli going up to hug her father? Nice moments from nice people.
Serena Celebrated On Twitter
Serena popped up on Twitter Trends after the match, and all from people who remembered her great play and winning streak. If Serena had any doubt, she is loved by tennis and at Wimbledon.
Stay tuned.
