Deacon Jones: NFL HOF Defensive End Passes At 74

Deacon Jones, The Secretary Of Defense in the NFL, passed away at the age of 74 on Monday. Jones was perhaps the best defensive end in the history of the National Football League, and was part of the famed “Fearsome Foursome” that consisted of Rosey Greer, Lamar Lundy, Merlin Olsen, and Mr. Jones.

It’s impossible for this blogger to think of an NFL All-Star 4-3 Defense without Deacon Jones, who played for the Los Angeles Rams and the Washington Redskins, at defensive end.
