Sarah Palin Emails: Blogger Syrin’s Affair Claims Bug Palin Family

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has little use for bloggers, particularly one Alaskan thorn named Sherry Whitstine AKA Syrin (in photo).

That much is clear after this blogger’s first perusal through the online files of emails that were posted, thank to The Huffington Post. The particular email segment that focuses on Syrin started July 8, 2008, and with this paragraph that happened to pop-up right in my face, just 45 seconds after the pdf docs downloaded:

From: Ivy Frye Subject: please send this email to adn and bcc me on it—thanks.!! To: “Donny Benson” , “Donny Benson” Date: Tuesday, July 8, 2008, 9:24 PM
Hey,
Cut the body of this email and paste into a new email and send to [email protected].
Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m writing to bring your attention to the increasingly inapropriate comments posted by the blogger syrin. Every day she posts comments that have absolutely no bearing on policy. For example, today the ADN posted a positive story on the national press Governor Palin is receiving, yet syrin accuses the governor of having an affair or makes hateful comments about her young children. I don’t often feel compelled to write, but syrin’s comments are never on topic, nor are they civil as is stated in the terms of use.
Thank you for your time.

And that wasn’t the last of it, but just the beginning. Apparently, from the emails posted, Sherry Whitstine managed to get her blogging work into the local Anchorage Daily News, the newspaper of record for Anchorage, Alaska. For example:

Below is the email (which was shown above) Don sent to ADN. It’s not much, but we were trying to bring there attention to this ongoing and very frustrating situation. Her comments are downright libelous. You’re right-she’s a crazy hater.

And even Bristol Palin, using her Mom’s Blackberry to follow-up on this matter while her Mom was driving, wrote this:

From: [email protected] To: Hughes, Rosanne D (GOV) Sent: Wed Jul 09 17:34:55 2008 Subject: Re: please send this email to adn and bcc me on it—thanks!!
This is Bristol my moms driving, we say thank you so much and mom and I were just praying about the hurt and anger that comes with her job. Thank you for your faith in God. We share it and we love you!
Bristol

This is the first clear evidence that, as far back as 2008, Governor Palin and her family were dealing with adversarial bloggers, and the result of Sherry Whitstine’s work, in particular, was taking a heavy emotional toll on the Palin family. And that was some time before Governor Palin was picked as Senator John McCain’s GOP Presidential Running Mate, and the national spotlight was on her.

It also supports my video where I said that, in resigning from the position of Governor of Alaska, Palin’s thin-skin “did her in:”

That’s not to imply that Sherry Whitstine’s claims and approach were justified, only to show how the Palin’s reacted to such attacks from Syrin. Here’s another email that was written to calm the Governor:

From: Sent: To: Subject:
Hughes, Rosanne D (GOV) [[email protected]] Wednesday, July 09, 2008 5:00 PM [email protected] Re: please send this email to adn and bcc me on it-thanks!!
Governor, do you know how loved you are? These four or five bitter people are so NOT representative. You are so, so loved. The enemy is trying to discourage you. Hang I there! You are doing such an awesome job. You are an amazing lady and the Lord is your defender. He knows the truth and He is going to vindicate you. It hurts my heart to hear these horrible people are bringing you down. We forgive them, Lord. Help theses people come to know You.

I have stated again, and again, that Governor Palin’s post-2008 election assent was an effort to get revenge over how she was treated by the GOP during the campaign. Now, it’s fair to add her Alaska enemies to the set of reasons for the development of a public persona that’s made Palin a millionaire. From Levi Johnston to Syrin, it’s clear, even today, in the still-rabid attacks by Syrin, that should Palin elect to run for President, her Alaska past would be painfully shoved right back in her family’s collective face.

The money Palin has made is a fair payback for what she’s sustained; Palin can’t want to deal with it all over again.
