Tribeca features awards for independent films in six (6) categories:

  • World Narrative
  • World Documentary
  • Emerging Narrative
  • Emerging Documentary
  • Narrative Short Film
  • Documentary
  • Student Short Film

Tribecca features some of the best independent films. Past winners include Stolen Life the story of China’s Sheng Si Jie and the crowd-pleasing RUSH: Beyond the Lighted Stage by Directors Scot McFadyen & Sam Dunn. This year’s offerings from The Loving Story, which I’ve mentioned previously, and Union (the story of Elton John’s 201 album collaboration with iconic master musician Leon Russell,) to romantic dramas starring Keira Knightley & Zach Braff, and chillers such as The Bleeding House are sure to delight audiences.
