Nancy Skinner, Kris Perry and Sandy Stier Get “Women of the Year” Awards, In Oakland Today

The The National Women’s Political Caucus – Alameda North East Bay, California Chapter will honor California Assemblyperson Nancy Skinner, and Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, lead plaintiffs in the challenge to Proposition 8, at the NWPC Susan B. Anthony Women of the Year Awards today at 4 PM.

Assemblyperson Skinner will be the recipient of the Elected Leader of the Year award, while Kris Perry and Sandy Stier will earn the Advocates of the Year honor.

The event is today at 4 PM at the The Port Gallery and Offices in the historic Overland House, 101 Broadway, in Oakland. It officially kicks off at 5 PM and goes to 6 PM today.

The purpose and goals of The National Women’s Political Caucus – Alameda North are to increase women’s participation in the political process, to increase the number of pro-choice women in elected and appointed positions, to win equality for women and to support candidates who support our goals.
