Kevin Blackburn just called this blogger to say that he’s filed papers to enter the Oakland City Council District Two Race, and did so last Monday. Mr. Blackburn now joins Dana King, Sokhom Mao, Andrew Park, Michael Colbruno (who says he’s dropping out but hasn’t officially done so as of this writing), and Abel Guillen (who says he’s dropping in but hasn’t officially done so as of this writing), making this a crowded and now officially hotly contested race to fill the sear currently held by Oakland City Council President Pat Kernighan.
Kevin Blackburn is Assistant Vice President for Legislative & Regulatory Affairs at the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco. He reports that he’s a 47-year-resident of Oakland’s District Two; he’s 55 years old.
I will be interviewing Mr. Blackburn this week.
Stay tuned.
