Very excited to be here, and to stay at the Crowne Plaza Beverly Hills. The hotel’s a terrifically-located and luxurious choice if you’re coming to Los Angeles for the Academy Awards.
Especially in the rain!
As I write this, the Oscars Red Carpet is set up and ready to go, and after a terrible rain downpour that saw much of the Red Carpet covered up on Saturday:
As a YouTube viewer noted, the rain has messed a lot up, and it looked like crews were a tad behind schedule at the time, but I know that Joe Lewis, the Oscars head of production, will have it all done by this morning.
Here’s videos I posted from our Oscars Red Carpet visit Saturday:
This one shows a new rolling LED marque feature on the Red Carpet:
This one shows which media outlets are covering the Oscars:
And this is me meeting the Oscar:
The Academy Awards is more than just the Red Carpet. This entire town’s got parties and events. The Night Of 100 Stars Oscars Party at the Beverly Hills Hotel is the premier Oscars viewing event here. I’m covering it with the help of my friends Matt and Eva for the 5th year in a row! To celebrate, we’re having breakfast at The Polo Lounge at 10 AM, and at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
But for those of you who don’t know why the The Night Of 100 Stars Oscars Party is so cool, it’s the celebrities who, in total, have formed so much of American Culture, from Sean Young and Jason Ritter, to Pat Boone and Rich Little, and game show host Wink Martindale, and Courtney Stodden, and the late Anna Nicole Smith. There’s a lot of rich history in the room.
