A construction kickoff ceremony Friday January 30th, 10 am at 1400 16th St., San Francisco (Entrance on the Corner of 16th & Carolina Streets), to celebrate the renovation and renewal of the art deco McClintock Building located at the crossroads of San Francisco’s SOMA, Potrero Hill, Mission Bay and Mission districts.
This historic building is being transformed into a contemporary structure for industrial, manufacturing and office space to accommodate 21st century companies. Open concept floor plans and naturally lit spaces will pay homage to the 1938 art-deco style of the original building.
The 103,000 square foot light industrial/office building at 1400 16th St. is being renovated by owners SKS Partners, ProspectHill Group and ASB Real Estate Investments. The innovative architecture of Pfau Long Architects will provide a modernized design that will incorporate a seismic update, all new building systems, a central atrium with an operable “greenhouse” roof and a roof deck with panoramic views.
The historic building, previously occupied by clothing designer Jessica McClintock, will feature open concept tenant space and naturally lit expanses. The central atrium, referred to as The Commons, will include natural light from the operable greenhouse roof above and wood paneled walls which will create a tranquil and collaborative gathering place for tenants in an industrial neighborhood. The new McClintock Building at 1400 16th Street is currently seeking new tenants and is scheduled to open in summer 2015.
