Will Lovie Smith Be NFL “Rooney Rule” Black Token Interview For 2014?

Bill O’Brien is not going to take the Houston Texans head coaching job, according to Brooklyn, New York, Abraham Lincoln five-star defensive tackle and Penn State commit Thomas Holley, the 24th best high school football player in the nation.

Thomas Holley said that he talked to Penn State Head Coach Bill O’Brien just seven hours before the upload of this video. In that conversation, as shared with PennState247 blogger Luke Stampini, Coach O’Brien assured his prized recruit that he wasn’t going anywhere.

The news runs counter to reports by ESPN’s Chris Mortenson who said that a deal to hire Coach O’Brien away from Penn State was imminent.

That’s highly important because Bill O’Brien leaving Penn State would have a damaging impact on the class of new student-athletes he worked to get to come to The Nittany Lions.

My personal favorite for the Houston Texans job is former Chicago Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith. Smith has won over 60 percent of his games, and took the Bears to the NFC Championship twice. In his last year with Chicago, he went 10 wins and 6 losses – better than the current team coached by his replacement, Marc Trestman.
