Christophe Beck: Edge Of Tomorrow, Frozen Film Composer Interview

Christophe Beck Edge Of Tomorrow Frozen Film Composer Interview Christophe Beck Edge Of Tomorrow, Frozen Film Composer Interview

Christophe Beck, the Edge Of Tomorrow and, Frozen Film Composer gave this interview at Comic Con 2014. In it, Mr. Beck revealed that some studios are easier and better for a film composer to work with.

That was true for Disney and Frozen far more than for 20th Century Fox and Edge Of Tommorrow. “Some places,” he said, “are just all set up for the composer.” Disney, Beck continue, is that kind of place and they have deep respect for the film maker and the composer.

I got the impression that as much as he was “in awe” of working with Tom Cruise, Beck found the overall experience of working on Edge Of Tomorrow like root canal. He left enough rejected music behind to “make two sequels” he said.

Beck said the best situation is to have a strong film director the studio respects, so there aren’t all of these competing voices pulling at the film composer.

I think Tom Cruise should watch this interview if he wants some idea of what went wrong with Edge Of Tomorrow.

As for Frozen, Beck says that the love for the popular song “Let It Go”, which won an Oscar, was not his doing, yet he gets credit for it anyway.

He’ll take it.

Stay tuned. http://ift.tt/UQihkO
