Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie Review Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie Review.
A great addition to the MARVEL Phase II series of movies and with perhaps the best dialog of all of them. Guardians Of The Galaxy is a fun ride of a summer flick.
Based on a title in the MARVEL Comics universe that even MARVEL execs called “obscure,” Guardians of the Galaxy came to life, first, as a screenplay by an unknown writer in MARVEL’s screenwriting program Nicole Perlman. As Hollywood generally does it, the script was bought, then totally re-written by James Gunn, who saw the story for film as something like The Dirty Dozen. That story aside, the end result is a surprising success.
The only reason Guardians Of The Galaxy stands tall is because MARVEL Entertainment has grown as a brand such that they can take unknown titles and almost guarantee box office success.
That, however, must be coupled with the fact that Guardians Of The Galaxy gives us new characters in a kind of Star Wars-setting, but peppered with a number of adult themes. I think, with so many remakes and reboots, there was a pent-up demand for something fresh, and Guardians Of The Galaxy’s was that something.
Guardians Of The Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Batista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, and Bradley Cooper as the raccoon-like, scene-stealing creature Rocket.
Is Guardians Of The Galaxy for kids?
I have to say I saw a number of children around the ages of ten years old in the 10 PM movie I went to see. Folks, don’t take your kid to see Guardians Of The Galaxy, unless they’re 17 years old. There are way too many lines that kids have to have an adults’ degree of sexual understanding, otherwise it’s way over their heads, and if they’re not talking about what they heard with you, then they’re doing it with some one else.
Other than that, Guardians Of The Galaxy is a great summer movie.
