Stephanie Thorpe On ElfQuest Movie At Comic Con 2014 Panel

thorpeStephanie Thorpe, my friend who, with Paula Rhodes, owns the movie and television rights to the ElfQuest Comic Book property that was created by Wendy and Richard Pini in 1978, is coming to Comic Con 2014.

Ms. Thorpe and Ms. Rhodes will be part of a panel called “The Next Chapter for ElfQuest: Bringing Elves to a Screen Near You” and to be held on Saturday, July 26th at 6:30pm in Room 26AB, San Diego Convention Center.

Here’s Ms. Thorpe and Ms. Rhodes at Comic Con 2013, talking ElfQuest:

At The Next Chapter of ElfQuest panel, with Dark Horse’s Final Quest, we will learn of a new ElfQuest saga by creators Wendy and Richard Pini, the latest EQ merchandise from WeLoveFine, and there will be announced EQ inspired jewelry! We will share in exciting updates from co-producers Stephanie Thorpe (Night of the Zombie King) and Paula Rhodes (The New Adventures of Peter & Wendy), who hold the film/TV rights to this 35-plus-year-old beloved comic series.

Fans of ElfQuest since they were kids, Thorpe and Rhodes have been working tirelessly to expand and promote the World of Two Moons, and are thrilled to introduce their new team of fellow fans: Angela Song Mueller (Legend of Korra), Joshua Hamilton (Avatar: The Last Airbender), and Luke Ryan (Harold & Kumar). Moderated by Jenna Busch (Cocktails With Stan).

Spark Your Creativity

The Stephanie Thorpe panel before the ElFQuest one will be called “Spark Your Creativity” and is on that same Saturday, July 26th but at 1:00pm in Room 23ABC of San Diego Convention Center.

It goes like this…

Spark Your Creativity: A Call to Action! Ladies Unite to Create More Female-Driven Content! as they share ways to cultivate your ideas and bring them to life. Moderated by Stephanie Pressman (Fashionably Nerdy, Stalking LeVar) and featuring the insights of America Young (Geek Therapy, The Chimaera Project), Helenna Santos (Ms. In The Biz), Heidi Cox (Stalking LeVar, Geek Speak TV), Kristen Nedopak (The Geekie Awards, The Skyrim Parodies), Patty Jean Robinson (Pike & Trident, Awkward Embraces), and Samantha Mason (Fashionably Nerdy, Legends of Atoll). Stephanie says you will leave with inspiration, confidence, a solid plan of action, and tons of new ideas.

A recent presenter at the IAWTV Awards at CES in Vegas, Thorpe’s series Pairings was nominated in three categories, including best directing and ensemble performance (pairingstheseries.com). She currently produces and stars in The Ladies & The Gents, which was just honored with a nomination at the Indie Series Awards, and a win at the LA Web Fest (theladiesandthegents.com). Stephanie’s proud to be a judge for The Geekie Awards for the second time. Up next for Stephanie, further adventures for ElfQuest, her returning series The Ladies & The Gents, and new project, Slumber Con.

Stay tuned!
