Friday August 30, 2013 – Sunday September 8, 2013

NOTICE: Next weekend the first major pour of structural concrete will take place Friday night September 6 beginning at 10:00 PM and continuing through to Saturday September 7 until 8:00 PM. Traffic may be impacted occasionally with concrete trucks queue along Howard Street, First Street and Second Streets. Clean up from construction operations are scheduled for Sunday September 8 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What to Expect Labor day Weekend in San Francisco (Saturday 8/31/13 – Monday 9/2/13):

Western Transit Center Site (Between First and Second Streets): This weekend there will be general construction activities such as waterproofing, and installation of electrical, plumbing, and reinforcing steel for the Trainbox below grade on Saturday August 31 between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. There is no construction work scheduled for Sunday September 1, or Monday September 2 due to Labor Day weekend.

Central Transit Center Site (Between Fremont and First Streets): This weekend there is no construction work scheduled on Saturday August 31st through Monday September 2 due to Labor day weekend.

Eastern Transit Center Site (Between Beale and Fremont Streets): This weekend there is no construction work scheduled on Saturday August 31 through Monday September 2 due to Labor day weekend.

Weekday Work (9/3/13 – 9/6/13):

Excavation and Internal Bracing Work:

Western Transit Center Site (Between First and Second Streets): This week construction material including reinforcing steel will be delivered daily between 3:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Waterproofing, electrical and plumbing and the installation of rebar is scheduled daily between the hours of 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. General maintenance of equipment, material deliveries and clean-up is also performed between the hours of 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Trucks and equipment will enter from the construction gate located on Howard Street (between First and Second Streets) and exit the construction gate at First Street (between Mission and Howard Streets). This week on Friday night September 6 there will be a concrete slab pour scheduled from 10:00 PM Friday to 12:00 Noon Saturday September 7 which includes multiple concrete trucks and concrete pumping equipment that may increase noise levels in the central transit center site.

Central Transit Center Site (Between Fremont and First Streets): This week on Wednesday September 4 and Thursday September 5, there will be a concrete protection slab pour scheduled from 6:00 AM-6:00 PM which includes multiple concrete trucks and concrete pumping equipment that may increase noise levels. Excavation, trucking and welding of cross lot steel bracing on the eastern end is scheduled daily between the hours of 5:00 AM and 11:30 PM. General maintenance of equipment, material deliveries and clean-up is also performed between the hours of 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.

Eastern Transit Center Site (Between Beale and Fremont Streets): Excavation, trucking and welding of cross lot steel bracing is scheduled daily between the hours of 5:00 AM and 11:30 PM. General maintenance of equipment, material deliveries and clean-up is also performed between the hours of 3:00PM to 11:30 PM.

Western Transit Center Site (Between First and Second Streets):This week construction material including reinforcing steel will be delivered daily between 3:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The waterproofing, electrical and plumbing and the installation of rebar is scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. General maintenance of equipment, material deliveries and clean-up is also performed between the hours of 3:00PM to 11:30 PM. Trucks and equipment will enter from the construction gate located on Howard Street (between First and Second Streets) and exit the construction gate at First Street (between Mission and Howard Streets).

Central Transit Center Site (Between Fremont and First Streets): This week waterproofing will continue and there will be a concrete protection slab pour scheduled from 6:00 AM-6:00 PM which includes multiple concrete trucks and concrete pumping equipment that may increase noise levels. Excavation, trucking and welding of cross lot steel bracing on the eastern end is scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 5:00 AM and 11:30 PM. General maintenance of equipment, material deliveries and clean-up is also performed between the hours of 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Trucks will enter from the construction gate located at Fremont Street (between Mission and Howard Streets) and exit the construction gate at First Street (between Mission and Howard Streets).

Eastern Transit Center Site (Between Beale and Fremont Streets): This week demolition of the surface level concrete will continue daily, during the day shift only, between the hours of 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM resulting in increased vibration and noise. Excavation, trucking and welding of cross lot steel bracing is scheduled daily between the hours of 5:00 AM and 11:30 PM. General maintenance of equipment, material deliveries and clean-up is also performed daily between the hours of 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Trucks will enter and exit from the construction gates located on Fremont Street and at Beale Street (between Mission and Howard Streets).

Underground Utilities/Trenching Work:

Mission Street (Between Beale and Second Streets): There will be no underground utilities work this week. Underground utilities work on Mission Street between Main Street and First Street will resume in September.

There is no construction work scheduled for Sunday September 8.

Eastern Transit Center Site (Between Beale and Fremont Streets): General maintenance of equipment, material deliveries and clean-up is scheduled September 7 between the hours of 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This weekend there will be demolition of concrete, excavation, welding of cross lot steel bracing, and off haul scheduled on September 7 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM to comply with noise permits. Detours, Street and Sidewalk Closures:

The following streets will be temporarily impacted due to project activities. So you can plan ahead, please review the affected streets below:

Beale Street (Between Mission and Howard Streets): Beale Street traffic may be impacted occasionally during construction with trucks exiting at the construction gates onto Beale Street. Construction flaggers will be assigned during peak hours to assist with traffic and pedestrians. Pedestrians will continue to use east sidewalk between Mission and Howard Streets. Pedestrians are urged to please use the crosswalks at the Mission and Howard Street intersection to safely cross.

Fremont Street (Between Mission and Howard Streets): On Wednesday August 28, the Eastern lane between Natoma and Mission Street will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Fremont Street traffic may be impacted occasionally during construction with trucks entering and exiting at the construction gates. Construction flaggers and SFPD 10B Officers will be assigned during peak hours to assist with traffic and pedestrians. There is now an additional traffic light activated on Fremont Street mid-block between Howard and Mission Streets – commuters and pedestrians should be prepared to stop. Pedestrians will continue to use west sidewalk of the temporary bridge between Mission and Howard Streets. Pedestrians are urged to please use the crosswalks at the Mission and Howard Street intersection to safely cross.

First Street (Between Mission and Howard Streets): First Street traffic may be impacted occasionally during construction with trucks entering and exiting construction gates. Construction flaggers and SFPD 10B Officers will be assigned during peak hours to assist with traffic and pedestrians. Pedestrians will continue to use west sidewalk of the temporary bridge between Mission and Howard Streets. Pedestrians are urged to please use the crosswalks at the Mission and Howard Street intersection to safely cross.

Natoma Street (Between Fremont and First Streets): Natoma Street (between Fremont and First Streets) has been reduced to one lane, one way (west bound), all vehicles will enter from Fremont Street and exit at First Street. Local vehicle and pedestrian access will remain available.

Natoma Street (Between First and Second Streets): Natoma Street (between First and Second Streets) has been changed to a dead end street for the life of the project with no vehicle access through Natoma Street from Second Street. Local vehicle and pedestrian access will remain available.

Minna Street (Between First and Second Streets): Minna Street has been reduced to one lane, one way (west bound), all vehicles will enter from First Street and exit at Second Street. There will be no parking along Minna Street between First Street and 130 feet east of Second Street for the life of the project. Local vehicle and pedestrian access will remain available.

Mission Street (Between First and Second Streets):This week there is no Transbay Project work scheduled on Mission Street. Work on Mission Street between Main Street and First Street will resume in September.
