Sabine Lisicki: Can The Hot Wimbledon Would-Be Champ Beat Agnieszka Radwanska?

3454Sabine Lisicki is set to play # 4th ranked Agnieszka Radwanska in a match to be played at 5 AM PT on July 4th. Ms. Lisicki is 23rd ranked, but has beaten the one-considered unbeatable Serena Williams, and then dispatched 46th-ranked Kaia Kanepi in straight sets the next day.

But Agnieszka Radwanska presents a different challenge, but one where the 5-10 Lisicki goes in with more than just a height advantage over the 5-8 Radwanska: Ms. Radwanska has a thigh injury.

As for the reason for the injury, Radwanska said “Too much tennis the last few days, that’s why I was struggling with that, but I think it’s a good problem to have. I’m just going to keep going and try my best in the semi-finals.”

Radwanska and Lisicki have faced each other before, and the results has been a split. In Dubai in 2012, Radwanska prevailed in straight sets, but in the previous year 2011 at Stanford, Lisicki won.

But both of those matches were on hard court – this one’s on grass.
