Blake Shelton, country singer and star of The Voice, is planning a benefit to help victims of the Oklahoma Tornados on May 29th at 9PM.
The event, called “Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert” will be held at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, and will be televised live at 9 p.m. EDT on NBC.
Shelton has rounded up a great list of country music stars to be a part of this special event: Reba McEntire, Vince Gill, and Miranda Lambert, who’s Shelton’s wife. And even more performers will be announced soon.
“Everyone has their way to help, and mine as an entertainer is to perform to help raise money and awareness for this tragedy,” Shelton said in a statement. “This is why I want to do this special and especially hold it in Oklahoma City, which is near ground zero.”
Tickets for next week’s concert go on sale Saturday, May 25, at 10 a.m. CT, on Ticketmaster.com.
Stay tuned.
Oh, and I have something to say about those storm chasers…
