The Cannes Film Festival’s starting to read like Oakland, California with reports of a jewelry theft and now shots fired while actors Christoph Waltz and Daniel Auteuil were in the middle of a live interview.

According to Reuters, A man fired a gun as actors Christoph Waltz and Daniel Auteuil were in the middle of an interview during a live TV broadcast along the sun-drenched, palm-lined waterfront, sending the pair, and many others, running for cover.
Reuters reporter said that Canal+, the French TV station, was interviewing Austria’s Oscar-winning Waltz and French actor Auteuil live as part of its nightly news show from the beach-front set before a crowd of spectators when a man later described as “crazy” fired two shots into the air.
The show later did go on.

The fake shooting followed news the same Friday that more than $1 million in jewels belonging to the Swiss firm Chopard were stolen from a hotel room in Cannes.
