Energy Upgrade, California Can Help Homeowners Save Money, Reduce Energy Use

Energy Upgrade, California is an ambitious program to encourage California homeowners to improve their home’s energy use by providing incentives to allow them to buy new heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

The State Of California promoters assert that Energy Upgrade, California can:

Save energy and lower your bills
Make your home more comfortable in all seasons
Improve the air quality inside your home
Conserve resources and reduce greenhouse gases

And all by taking advantage of rebat and incentives available. You can get up to $4,500 in incentives from your utility company, plus additional local rebates.

For example, in 2012 Los Angeles County and San Fernando Valley-based Matadors Community Credit Union partnered with Energy Upgrade, California to provide low-cost loans for home energy upgrades. “Los Angeles County homeowners now have one more reason to make important energy-efficiency renovations to their homes,” said Howard Choy, General Manager of the County Office of Sustainability. “The Energy Upgrade program already ensures decreased home energy bills and rebates of up to $8,000, and this exciting new partnership with Matadors provides unparalleled financing solutions for County residents. It’s another big step in encouraging LA homeowners to embrace a sustainable lifestyle, starting with their home.”

More recently, the City of Claremont and the Claremont Home Energy Retrofit Program celebrated reaching its home energy upgrade goal of upgrading 130 homes in its housing stock. Local, Los Angeles County, state and federal officials joined residents, community groups and more in commemorating Claremont’s really cool milestone achievement. Here’s the video:
