Cal Coach Justin Wilcox Defense Alignment Caused Pitt Desmond Reid 75-Yard TD Run, Not Nate Burrell
Coach Wilcox is yelling at Nate Burrell for Pitt running back Desmond Burrell’s 75 yard run. But Coach should yell at himself.
It was the Cal Defensive Alignment that put 98 in a bad position, asking him to take on the guard inside of him rather than defend the outside gap.
Cal has to run more conventional 4-3 Defensive Alignment with single gap assignments for the defensive line. Wilcox has them two-gapping. Awful.
