Oakland Las Vegas A’s Ballpark At Tropicana Hotel Land Brings Old Raiders Problem Of Caliche

The announcement that the Oakland A’s have purchased development rights on land that currently belongs to Bally’s and holds the Tropicana Hotel, should bring up old thoughts for Oakland Raiders Fans, – ones that were once concerned with a material called “caliche”.

In the case of the land that the once Oakland Raiders now Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium sits on, it was a major tub of the caliche material. What’s caliche? Well, caliche is “an area of calcium carbonate formed in the soils of semiarid regions”. It is known for being a hard material to drill or dig into. So, how did the Raiders Stadium builders deal with it? They used a lot of dynamite and made a fun stop for selected Raiders fans and Nevada politicians to come down and blast caliche. But the question is, how do you, Zennie, know that caliche is a problem at the Tropicana Hotel site?

Because of this report called: “GEOTECHNICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, INC.SIMILAR PROJECT EXPERIENCE: TROPICANA MEGA RESORTLAS VEGAS, NEVADA”. It reads “The purpose of the full scale pile load test was to evaluate the ultimate capacity of the drilled shaft foundations and optimize drilled shaft foundation design to the degree practicable. GES, through our sister company Eagle Drilling, also performed a caliche probe to a depth of about 40 feet below the existing ground surface at the pile load test location.”

The question is, can the Oakland A’s builders deal with it this time?

Stay tuned.

The overall objective here, on top of our is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours – is the use of the existing YouTube social graph on any subject in the World. Now, news is reported with a smartphone and also by promoting current content on YouTube: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, or having a camera crew to shoot what is already on YouTube. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
