George Lucas And Mellody Hobson Engaged; Twitter On Fire

George Lucas And Mellody Hobson, the seven-year-long relationship between the legendary filmmaker, creator of Star Wars, and Irish Coffee-lover (I had one with him at the old Aqua Restaurant in San Francisco six years ago), and the businesswoman who is president of Chicago investment firm Ariel Investments has turned into an engagement.

First, congratulations! That means if he can do it at 68, there’s still time for this blogger!

Second, the announcement catapulted “George Lucas” into Twitter Top Trend status for a moment (he’s now replaced by Scott Pioli, the NFL GM who was fired from the Kansas City Chiefs a moment ago). But that’s enough to see what the Twitter buzz is saying.
