LA Startup Community Blows Up Like Chernobyl?

Just got an email from LA StartupDigest that reads as follows:

Beachers,

Our friendly little startup community continues to blow up like Chernobyl. As such, many of the bright-eyed & bushy-tailed newcomers (and/or investors for that matter) have a seriously hard time getting a handle on all its happenings and goings-on. In order to give everyone the luxury of a birds-eye view into the reactor, the founder of this week’s feature startup, Mr. Robert Lambert (aka “Bert-Bert”) has courageously donned a HazMat suit to walk directly into SB’s fissile core and launch SiliconBeachLA.com in beta. He’s awaiting your feedback on Twitter @Socal_Rob.

What? Fuck no. First, bringing up Chernobyl in any context is questionable, but this takes the cake. Second, given the radiation, why the hell would I want to set foot in such an environment. Chernobyl was not a nuclear explosion, it was a fucking meltdown of massive proportions.

I am pretty sure that doesn’t describe the LA Startup Community, otherwise The Winklevoss’ Twins wouldn’t have bothered to establish an investor fund down there.

Geez.
