Obama “Twist And Shout” Election Night Rally, McCormick Place, Chicago

Those not familiar with Chicago can be excused for thinking that President Obama’s Victory Speech was held outdoors again; it wasn’t.

The entire scene was indoors in the mammoth McCormick Place Convention Center. This blogger grew up in Chicago, and recognizes the huge space from attending the Chicago Auto Show so many times that cars were driven into my brain at a young age. But I digress.

Thanks to social media, we can see what it was like to be in McCormick Place just before and during President Obama’s speech.

If you’ve never been to an Obama Rally, this is a must see. The President’s rallies are more a pop-culture celebration of America: diverse, singing, dancing, fun (photo by Chicago Man on Flickr). You’ll hear everything from Al Green to U2 (always), to The Beatles “Twist And Shout” – which is really a celebration of that famous Chicago-based movie, Ferris Buehler’s Day Off.

It’s really an experience – a must be at experience.

You’ll see people dancing everywhere, high-fives, great and nice people all over the place.
