Taylor Swift wins the Academy Of Country Music’s Entertainer Of The Year award for the second straight year, and caps an amazing weekend that saw the pop-country singer land awards, including from first lady Michelle Obama, at the Kids Choice Awards on Saturday, be introduced as a talent in the movie version of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, and the ACM awards nod for Entertainer of The Year.
All I can say is WOW.
But also God bless Swift, because Taylor had planned to bring a guy named Kevin McGuire as his date, and all because this 18-year-old suffering from leukemia dared ask her to go out as his prom date. Swift said she could not do that, but did invite him to the ACM awards as her date! Unfortunately, Kevin wound up in the hospital, where he still is running a high fever from complications due to the chemotherapy he’s under. Let’s all pray he gets better soon.
Better is the word for AMC’s Mad Men 2012 and the third episode directed by John Hamm, who plays Don Draper, was excellent. In this new installment, we learn that Betty has a cancer tumor she then uses to be closer to the now remarried Draper; she’s actually said to learn the tumor’s benign when her doctor calls because the news puts her failed relationship with Don back in that status.
Mad Men is great this year. I just wish the actors and actresses would avoid using modern slang terms like “bitchen” and so on.
NCAA Basketball Kentucky And Baylor Will Win
I can’t see either Kentucky or Baylor losing the game to get the mens and women’s basketball crowns. But I would like to see the nasty Twitter tweets about Anthony Davis and Brittany Griner to stop. They’re just awful and aren’t a great example of the good we can so online.
