Ron Paul Says Rick Santorum Can’t Beat Obama

Count on Texas Congressman and GOP Presidential Candidate to tell it like it is. On CNN’s State Of The Union, in an interview with Candy Crowley, Congressman Paul was asked if he thought GOP Presidential Challenger Rick Santorum, who he calls a pretend conservative, could beat President Obama.

Congressman Paul, looking tired and worse for wear in Kansas City, paused for a good two seconds, then said that “Well, I don’t see how that’s possible. This whole talk about social issues. About who’s going to pay for birth control pills. I’m worried about our civil liberties, wars, spending debt, $16 trillion dollars. Here, they’re worried about birth control pills, and who’s going to pay for what. He wants to control people’s lives with these social issues, and yet he voted for Planned Parenthood.”

Mr Paul’s blast against Santorum shows how the GOP as a whole is grasping for straws in trying to figure out how to fashion a good argument against Barack Obama. In the process, they’re attacking each other so badly that by the time the Presidential election race comes, no GOP candidate will look like they should be running for President.
