Oakland Mayor’s Race Debate: Another Failed Event The latest Oakland Mayor’s Race Debate was yet another disaster.
In this case, The 100 Black Men of Oakland’s debate was well attended but plagued by the same problems of the other debates.
Specifically, it focused on public safety and featured the same questions aimed at the candidates before: how many police officers does Oakland need, and so on?
Answering that question is not the best qualification to be Mayor of Oakland.
None of the people asking the questions has ever worked in the Oakland Mayor’s Office. So, questions regarding management scenarios are never answered.
On top of that many of the candidates are not contacted to appear in the debates. We have 16 Oaklanders running for Mayor of Oakland.
We need to get to the bottom of the matter of better evaluating candidates. This is becoming silly. http://ift.tt/1hlDIPI
