There was speculation whether or not Rick Santorum would be dropping out of the race after it became very publicized that his daughter, Isabella “Bella”, became very sick. USA Today and other sources say that she is recovering from pneumonia and is doing much better now.
His daughter Bella is three years old so when he found out she was sick he took some time off from the campaign to spend time with her, but now that she is recovering he says that he’s going to be back on the campaign trail and heading toward the midwest, looks like he didn’t think it’d be necessary to make any stops in Maine, where the caucus takes place this weekend.
Bella has a genetic condition called Trisomy 18 which is caused by the presence of an extra 8th chromosome.
