Jon Bon Jovi Not Dead, Posted New Photo

Jon Bon Jovi
Jon Bon Jovi is not dead. A blog called dailynewbloginternational.wordpress.com posted a fake news post with this headline: “International Rockstar Legend Jon Bon Jovi dead at 49.”

The blog post was communicated via Twitter, and the result was a viral spread that eventually caused “Bon Jovi” to be a Twitter Top-10 Trend. The post went like this:

Rockstar Jon Bon Jovi (John Francis Bongiovi, Jr) was pronounced dead today after paramedics found him in a coma at his Empress Hotel, city and law enforcement of Asbury Park, NJ sources told The Times after World Christmas Tour concert on The Bamboozle Festival,North Beach Asbury Park.

New Jersey Fire Department-First Aid Captain Douglas Gray told The Times that paramedics responded to a 911 call from the home. When they arrived, Bon Jovi was not breathing.

Then, TMZ.com posted that Bon Jovi was alive and well and set to perform a charity event, even though his location was not reported. The LA Times followed with the story that the blog was an alteration of the original report of Michael Jackson’s death on June 25th of 2009.

That’s awful, to say the least.

As to who owns the blog Daily Newblog International, it’s almost impossible to tell because it’s a wordpress-hosted blog. The domain name dailynewbloginternational.com is available, so it looks like the person who did this elected to use WordPress to make an untraceable free blog, but first looked to see if the URL name was taken.

At any rate, as the photo shows here, and posted by Jon Bon Jovi himself, he’s alive and well at 49.

Stay tuned.
