Jasper Bailey (AKA Jasper The Beatboxer) is a person I met in Downtown Oakland when I was on the way to Radio Bar. He literally chased me down, asking if I was a producer because he saw me making a video blog of my evening in Oakland to that point in time.
Mr. Bailey explained his talent of “beat boxing” (or making vocals that sound like music instruments) and said that he was from St. Louis Missouri, and came to Oakland. He apparently was a drifter; what he seeks I do not know, because I always wonder where the parents and family are in these cases. At any rate, I said I would video him, and gave him paid him for for the performance you see on video.
Afterward, I searched his stage name on Google and learned that he’s traveled the country giving these performances in subways in Chicago, then in Lake Forest, California, San Clemente, CA, Laguna Beach, California, and now Oakland.
People who’ve seen the video in Oakland agree he’s talented. Why he’s drifting around, I do not know. What do you think?
