Q. How excited are you to play in the Saints offense?
BRANDIN COOKS: I’m extremely excited for this opportunity. Coach Payton, his creativity. Drew Brees obviously gets the ball to all of his receivers and his tight end.
So to be a rookie coming in, this is definitely a fit where I want to be.
Q. What do you think of the city of New Orleans?
COOKS: Food. There’s some good food. I’m excited to get out there and put some pounds on.
Q. You got a favorite restaurant you want to try out already?
COOKS: I don’t know. I’m about to do my homework and try to get that figured out.
Q. Do you think it’s going to get pretty competitive for you to be able to get some reps for playing time?
COOKS: Definitely. No matter what team I go to, it’s going to be competitive. This is the National Football League. Everybody is trying to fight for that spot. That’s my mindset and that’s the type of person I am. I’m going to compete and go out there with full force and get the job done.
Q. Are you going to play X, Y, or Z?
COOKS: We’re going to find out from Coach Payton.
Q. What player do you pattern your game after?
