Miley Cyrus A Stoner? Defends Kelly Osbourne As Fans Attack

Miley Cyrus
Is Miley Cyrus a Stoner? That’s the question on the lips of fans and haters of the pop-culture icon on the same Cyber Monday that saw legions of Miley lovers take to the Internet in search of deals. Finished buying whatever they bought, many clicked over to find out what was up with their favorite ex-Disney star. What they saw on Twitter was Miley Cyrus defending her friend Kelly Osbourne.

@MileyCyrus Miley Ray Cyrus
Please stop bombarding my friends twitter pages with rude comments. NOTHING gives you the right to threaten people. I love u @MissKellyO :)

So this blogger figured, WTF was up with all that?

What was up started as Miley Cyrus was celebrating her 19th birthday last week in Hollywood. Kelly Osbourne presented Miley with a cake with Bob Marley’s likeness on it (not really a complement to the Marley Estate), and said to the crowd, which included her parents Trish and Billy Ray Cyrus, “You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake. You know you smoke way too much f-ing weed.” To which K-Osborne remarked “I thought salvia was your problem, Miley,” referring to Miley’s episode smoking a bong reportedly loaded with salvia.

The new online i-Pad publication The Daily wound up with an exclusive video of the party, and the result was every web publication from ABC to, well, this one, picking up the news. But this blogger has not reported that Cyrus is a Stoner, given what the definition of a Stoner is.

A Stoner is a person who takes marijuana on a daily basis; there’s no evidence that Miley Cyrus does anything close to that level of consumption of weed.

Plus, Cyrus says the whole deal was a joke, and why not believe her?

Meanwhile Kelly Osbourne, or @MissKellyO on Twitter, was attacked by Cyrus fans who developed the idea she was outing Miley as some kind of drughead – not the case. It was a joke.

But what’s not a joke is Miley Cyrus’ level of visibility has fallen from the heady days of 2009 when it looked like she was simulating sexing her way into our hearts, minds, and pants. Who can forget her Party In The USA Debut at 2009 The Teen Choice Awards, or her giving movie producer Adam Shankman a great grind dance at the wrap party for her movie The Last Dance?

Miley’s produced songs since then, but they’ve not taken off into pop-culture stratosphere orbit. Meanwhile Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber have released new tunes and combined their talent with great use of social media to zoom past Cyrus in Twitter Followers, with over 16 million and 14 million respectively, compared to her 3.7 million Twitter Followers.

Whatever Miley’s doing, it’s not working well right now. Maybe it’s time to return to Party In The USA in a big way?

Stay tuned.
