Who can blame American Idol winner Scotty McCreery for being excited to be singing in his first Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade? Maybe he was a little too excited, because someone forgot to tell the country crooner to make it look like he’s not lip-syncing his songs.
While everyone who’s watched the parade into adulthood knows that popular singers are just mouthing the words to their songs over a soundtrack, the idea is to make it look like it’s a real, live performance. In the World of Twitter and text, any performance that looks fake is called out by the universe.
That’s what happened to Scotty McCreery few moments ago at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Twitter was all over him for missing the lip-sync to his own song. Here’s a sample of the tweets:
@HenryWhitfield Henry Whitfield
If Scott McCreery isn’t lip-syncing, i’m blind. What a sham. #Macy’s #ThanksgivingParade@CarlyVanCucha Carly VanCucha
lol scott mccreery, learn to lip sync #fail@smashleymullins Ashley Mullins
Scott McCreery isn’t lip syncing. #sarcasm #macysthanksgivingdayparade@LynWinters Kristi Winters
Such a shame, watching the Macy’s Parade and Scott McCreery was lip syncing and badly!! Such a shame.
Stay tuned and Happy Thanksgiving!
