Mark Dominik’s, the former Tampa Bay Bucs GM who’s now an ESPN Analyst, is learning that his silly attempt to join in the cable sports network’s annual devaluing of black quarterbacks is backfiring. His NFL Live comments on former Louisville star QB and top NFL Draft quarterback Teddy Bridgewater were beyond the pale, pointing to what he thinks is, and I’m quoting him, a “skinny frame,” to this totally hilarious upchuck of an idea:
“There were things you saw on tape when you watched him. Something that scouts internally, we talked about it in Tampa with Teddy Bridgewater last year. Is he really the premiere quarterback? I like the young man, I think he’s a quality individual, he’s got character and leadership and those things. But this is a quarterback, and you’re judged by what quarterback you draft, and I think Teddy Bridgewater might not have all the pieces you’re looking for.”
Think about it.
Teddy Bridgewater is the 10th best passer in the nation, six spots higher than Blake Bortles, and two spots below Johnny Manziel.
Moreover, his touchdown to interception ratio of 31 to 4 is second best for 2013.
All of that, and more, and yet Mark Dominik makes that statement. Look at the video, and then you’ll understand the Twitter blast against Mark Dominik’s comments.
And, not talked about at all, is how Mr. Bridgewater totally killed his whiteboard talk with Jon Gruden. You have to watch this:
And here they are, the tweets:
Mark Dominik says Bridgewater does "some things on tape." Those things are called throwing touchdowns. This is confusing to Mark Dominik.

so im supposed to view Mark Dominik as some personnel expert on espn? my bucs were 28-52 with him as GM w/no playoff appearances.

Here's a specific: Mark Dominik was fired after a 28-52 stint in TB. @Cianaf
— Scott Kacsmar (@FO_ScottKacsmar) April 18, 2014
Mark Dominik went 28-52 and drafted Josh Freeman 17th overall. This might not be the end for Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater.

The Mark Dominik “assessment” of Bridgewater is off-base and unsubstantial. Frame size concerns unfair when Manziel is getting hyped.

Mark Dominik did not list any of Bridgewater's issues, he just said he had them. Seems like he doesn't like TB simply for the sake of it.

And more.
Teddy Bridgewater’s a great prospect and worthy of being drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Stay tuned.
