1. Houston—QB Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M.
Johnny Football joins a team that won 12 games in 2012. Instantly makes Texans relevant again and sells tons of tickets and jerseys while doing it.
2. St. Louis—DE Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina.
Pairs with Chris Long to form the most ferocious defensive end tandem in football. Both register double-digit sacks in 2014.
3. Jacksonville—QB Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville.
Becomes the third quarterback selected in the first round during the Jaguars brief nineteen-year history. Shoddy offensive line gets him injured and starts only half of the team’s games.
4. Cleveland—WR Sammy Watkins, Clemson.
Still no quarterback at the moment but Watkins combines with Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron and Ben Tate to provide explosive supporting cast. Could see Watkins catch more balls than Gordon, who led the NFL in receiving yards last season (1,646).
5. Oakland—OT Greg Robinson, Auburn.
Secures starting left tackle job from the moment he is selected. Replaces the departed Jared Veldheer and plays even better.
6. Atlanta—LB Khalil Mack, Buffalo.
When best talent available meets team need there should be no hesitation with the selection of Mack, who becomes their best current edge rusher and leads the team in sacks.
7. Tampa Bay—OT Jake Matthews, Texas A&M.
The reconstruction of the offense begins with a franchise left tackle in Matthews, who has the ability to earn more Pro Bowls than any of the players selected ahead of him.
8. Minnesota—QB Blake Bortles, Central Florida.
The selection of Bortles leads to the release or trade of Christian Ponder, who could ultimately end up competing for the job in Cleveland.
9. Buffalo—WR Mike Evans, Texas A&M.
Every AFC playoff team outscored the Bills by a significant difference. If they want a chance to make into the tournament, they need to provide quarterback EJ Manuel with a chance to succeed. Evans leads the team in touchdowns.
10. Detroit—CB Justin Gilbert, Oklahoma State.
